Assertive was quick to begin.  Measured was slow to begin.

Measured checked off Devel Sixteen soon after the start.  Devel Sixteen and Measured collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Any Luck checked off Aston Stealth approaching the first turn.  Good Old Pendles and Aston Stealth collided on the first turn checking Aston Stealth, Charming Charlie and Assertive.  Aston Stealth galloped on Assertive on the second turn checking Assertive.  Measured marred the running of Charming Charlie from the second turn to the home turn severely checking Charming Charlie, both greyhounds tailed off as a result.  Assertive and Ride Along collided on the third turn checking Assertive.  Devel Sixteen checked off Any Luck approaching the home turn.  Assertive and Any Luck collided on the home turn severely checking Any Luck and Devel Sixteen. 

Charming Charlie underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left wrist sprain and a right deltoid injury.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Measured underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hock fracture.  A 90 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards noted the incident casuing the hock fracture occurred entring the catching pen. 

Stewards spoke to Mr P. Smith, the trainer of Measured regarding the greyhounds racing manners from the second turn to the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Measured was charged with marring. Mr Smith pleaded guilty to the charge, Measured is suspended for 28 days at Sandown and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

A post-race sample was taken from Good Old Pendles - winner of the event. 

Madalia Champ went up with the lids and was slow to begin.  Untainted, Fourth Dimention and Debbie's Destiny were slow to begin.

Fourth Dimention and Debbie's Destiny.  Striking Tiger and Insuperable collided on the first turn.  Debbie's Destiny checked off Fourth Dimention approaching the home turn.  Striking Tiger and Insuperable collided approaching the winning post. 

Madalia Champ underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right deltoid and trapezius injuries.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Mr G. Jose was fined $50 for failing to ensure the registration card was produced for the greyhound Lots Of Chatter pursuant to GAR 33.

Lots Of Chatter, Ask Me Now and Major Minter were slow to begin. 

Major Minter checked off Charlie Cockatoo soon after the start.  Mega Dossa crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Ask Me Now, Major Minter and Rock Me Gorgeous.  Winlock Sunshine checked off Charlie Cockatoo approaching the first turn.  Lots Of Chatter, Winlock Sunshine and Mega Dossa collided on the first turn checking Winlock Sunshine, Mega Dossa and Major Minter.  Ask Me Now and Rock Me Gorgeous collided approaching the second turn and again on the second turn checking Ask Me Now and Mega Dossa.  Charlie Cockatoo and Lots Of Chatter collided on the third turn.  Ask Me Now checked off Mega Dossa on the third turn.  Charlie Cockatoo checked off Lots Of Chatter approaching the home turn.  

Ask Me Now underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.

Apex Within, Mepunga Pegasus and Theo's Thunder collided soon after the start checking all three greyhounds.  Whodat Lookin' checked off Immediate approaching the first turn.  Miss Firebird and Sunny's Kayo collided on the first turn.  Whodat Lookin' and Valencia Gem collided on the first turn, both greyhounds raced wide.  Apex Within checked off Mepunga Pegasus on the first turn.  Apex Within checked off Theo's Thunder on the third turn.  Miss Firebird and Mepunga Pegasus collided on the third turn checking Miss Firebird.  Sunny's Kayo checked off Miss Firebird entering the home straight. 

Renewed and Keeper Of Keys were slow to begin.

Five Thirty and Weetbix Jester collided soon after the start checking Five Thirty.  Cosmic Sparkle, Red Rochelle, Kraken Dust and Double Supreme collided on the first turn checking Keeper Of Keys, Red Rochelle, Five Thirty and severely checking Double Supreme which tailed off; and causing Weetbix Jester and Cosmic Sparkle to fall.  Renewed and Red Rochelle collided approaching the second turn.  Keeper Of Keys and Red Rochelle collided entering the front straight.  Keeper Of Keys checked off Renewed on the fifth turn.  Red Rochelle checked off Keeper Of Keys entering the home straight.  Renewed checked off Kraken Dust approaching the winning post. 

Double Supreme underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. 

Cosmic Sparkle underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. 

Weetbix Jester underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right monkey muscle and right hip injuries.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. 

Perfect Rocky was quick to begin.

Mandalorian and Barcia Prince collided soon after the start checking Barcia Prince.  Jeda's Girl and Driftin' Away collided soon after the start checking Jeda's Girl.  Driftin' Away, Bronelly Jacob and Barcia Prince collided approaching the first turn checking Driftin' Away, Bronelly Jacob and Jeda's Girl which raced wide as a result.  Driftin' Away and Bronelly Jacob collided on the second turn checking Bronelly Jacob.  Jeda's Girl checked off Driftin' Away in the back straight.  Mepunga Wonder checked off Perfect Rocky in the home straight.

Weeona Bulldozer and Red Hot Tears were slow to begin and collided soon after the start.  Atomic Icon and Mister Harlewood collided soon after the start.  Blazing Hype checked off For The Horde approaching the first turn.  Atomic Icon and Mister Harlewood collided on the second turn and again entering the front straight checking Red Hot Tears and Atomic Icon.  Weeona Bulldozer, Red Hot Tears and Blazing Hype collided on the second turn checking Red Hot Tears.  Weeona Bulldozer checked off Red Hot Tears entering the back straight.  Red Hot Tears and Tauwitchere collided in the back straight.  For The Horde and Spokane Flick collided on the home turn.  Weeona Bulldozer and Blazing Hype collided on the home turn. Weeona Bulldozer checked off For The Horde in the home straight.

Wears Woodleigh was slow to begin.

Better Watch Out and Aston Cade collided soon after start.  Better Watch Out, Aston Cade, Hardaway Winnie and Weblec Jack collided on the first turn checking Aston Cade, Hardaway Winnie, Weblec Jack and Bourbski Bar.  Aston Cade and Hardaway Winnie collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Wears Woodleigh crossed out entering the back straight and raced wide in the back straight.  Aston Cade and Weblec Jack collided on the third turn checking Weblec Jack.  Wears Woodleigh and Aston Cade collided on the third turn checking Wears Woodleigh.  Wears Woodleigh and Aston Cade collided approaching the home turn checking Wears Woodleigh causing the greyhound to race wide for the remainder of the event. 

King Of Swing was quick to begin.  Speed Force was slow to begin.

King Of Swing crossed in soon after the start checking Jim Zarr Dashian.  Pleach crossed out soon after the start checking Soldado.  Pleach, Speed Force, Soldado, Jim Zarr Dashian and Entwined collided on the first turn checking Pleach and severely checking Soldado, Jim Zarr Dashian and Entwined all three greyhounds raced wide as a result.  Speed Force and Jim Zarr Dashian collided entering the home straight.  Speed Force lost ground in the home straight.

Speed Force underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right deltoid and trapezius muscle injuries.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Chasing Rex - Late scratching at 5:57 under GAR 37 (4) on the advice of the On-Track Veterinarian after the greyhound was found to have fleas. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate of clearance stating the condition no longer exists, before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Charango went up with the lids and was very slow to begin (3 lengths). Show Of Force was slow to begin.

Why Not Paps crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Crackerjack Fish and Lightning Beach.  Chop Suey checked off Why Not Paps on the first turn.  Crackerjack Fish checked off Show Of Force on the first turn causing Lightning Beach and Charango to race wide.  Chop Suey checked off Why Not Paps on the second turn.  Crackerjack Fish, Why Not Paps and Matilda Hook collided on the third turn checking Matilda Hook, Why Not Paps, Show Of Force and Chop Suey.  Charango checked off Why Not Paps approaching the home turn checking Lightning Beach, Show Of Force and Chop Suey.

Tough Tears - Trainer Mr R. Britton reported that the greyhound pulled up well subsequent to the race. Mr Britton added that Tough Tears performs better when leading and at this stage of its career the 715m distance may be too far. Mr Britton stated that he’ll look to mix the greyhound’s distances before attempting the 715m distance again.
