Steward's Report
Kindra, Mandalorian and Lockwood Lad were slow to begin. Quick Paws crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Dr. Zayd severely checking Okawa On Fire and Blazing Flora. Dr. Zayd checked off Mandalorian on the first turn. Okawa On Fire visibly eased in the home straight veered in and collided with Blazing Flora and then again several times in the home straight severely checking Blazing Flora.
Okawa On Fire underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left triangle muscle injury. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. C. Tilley, the trainer of Okawa On Fire regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Okawa On Fire was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Tilley pleaded guilty to the charge, Okawa On Fire is suspended for 28 days at Sale and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
