A pre-race sample was taken from Magic Marcia.
Paper Plane and Aston Casino collided soon after the start, checking Paper Plane. Paper Plane and Ernie Prang collided approaching the first turn. Just Cruising and Illustration collided approaching the first turn. Magic Marcia raced wide entering the home straight. Paper Plane raced wide approaching the winning post.
Stewards spoke to Mr. D. McKenzie, the representative of Magic Marcia regarding the greyhound's improved performance in tonight's event. Stewards noted that there was a significant market move for the greyhound in early betting. Mr. McKenzie stated Magic Marcia trialled well at Ballarat prior to it's previous start on the 27th of May. Mr. McKenzie added that Magic Marcia received interference last week and felt that the greyhound would be competitive in tonight's event with an uninterupted run.
