A pre-race sample was taken from Florentine Bale.
Knockabout Fantasy was slow to begin.
Crackerjack Scot, Florentine Bale, Knockabout Fantasy and Aston Rose collided soon after the start, checking Aston Rose. Magic Jet, Shifter Magic and Florentine Bale collided approaching the first turn, checking Magic Jet, Shifter Magic and Knockabout Fantasy. Zipping Navy and Magic Jet collided approaching the home turn. Magic Jet and Shifter Magic collided approaching the home turn, checking Shifter Magic. Florentine Bale and Sprout collided in the home straight, checking Sprout.
Crackerjack Scot was initally placed in the incorrect starting box before being taken out and moved into the correct starting box. The race jumped as advertised.
Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Fisher after it was established that he placed the greyhound Crackerjack Scot in the incorrect box at the start of the event. Stewards took evidence from Mr. Fisher and Stewards at the start. After considering all the evidence, Stewards charged Mr. Fisher pursuant to GAR86(o) in that he placed the number seven (7) greyhound Crackerjack Scot into box number six (6) which in the opinion of Stewards was negligent. Mr. Fisher pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined $200.
