Steward's Report
Encantador and Maverick Rosa were quick to begin. Hint Of Magic and Aaron's Me Boy were slow to begin.
Crown Armani and Maverick Rosa collided approaching the first turn. Ignite The Stars checked off Encantador approaching the first turn. Akina Indie checked off Crown Armani on the first turn causing Akina Indie to race wide. Encantador visibly eased turned its head and raced wide on the first turn causing Maverick Rosa to race wide. Hint Of Magic and Aaron's Me Boy collided approaching the home turn checking Hint Of Magic and causing both greyhounds to race wide. Encantador veered out and marred Maverick Rose on the home turn and again in the home straight. Encantador, Akina Indie and Maverick Rose raced wide in the home straight.
Encantador underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no appaprent injury was reported. Mr Wagenaar declined a re-vet.
Stewards spoke to Mr R. Wagenaar, the trainer of Encantador regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Encantador was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Wagenaar pleaded guilty to the charge, Encantador is suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Encantador - unplaced in the event.
