Steward's Report
Ragnar Bale, Akina Archer and Staggerism collided soon after the start. Ragnar Bale checked off Akina Archer approaching the first turn. Baby Shark and Staggerism collided approaching the first turn checking Baby Shark. Akina Archer raced wide on the first turn. Big Bash Healy and Princess Pulse collided approaching the second turn and again on the second turn. Akina Archer and Staggerism collided in the back straight. Ragnar Bale and Princess Pulse collided on the third turn. Big Bash Healy visibly eased and turned its head on the third turn, approaching the home turn, on the home turn and collided with Whispy Bale. Big Bash Healy turned its head again entering the home straight and approaching the winning post.
Big Bash Healy underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Mr Willcocks declined a re-vet.
Stewards spoke to Mr D. Willcocks, the trainer of Big Bash Healy regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the third turn, approaching the home, on the home turn, entering the home straight and approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Big Bash Healy was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Willcocks pleaded not guilty to the charge, Big Bash Healy was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
