Steward's Report
An out of competition sample was taken from Sadarli on 17 November 2019 pursuant to GAR 79A.
Decker was quick to begin. Ivoria Bale and Sadarli were slow to begin. Can't Say That, Slick Paws and Mick's Multi collided soon after the start checking Slick Paws. Slick Paws and Mr. Medico collided approaching the first turn. Sadarli crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Slick Paws, Mr. Medico, Ivoria Bale and Hayley's Hero. Can't Say That was checked off Decker on the first turn. Slick Paws was checked off Hayley's Hero on the first turn. Sadarli galloped on Can't Say That approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds. Ivoria Bale, Sadarli and Mr. Medico collided on the home turn checking Sadarli, Slick Paws and Hayley's Hero. Slick Paws visibly turned its head on the home turn and again approaching the winning post and collided with Hayley's Hero.
Slick Paws underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured right sesamoid and right hip. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Boreland regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn and approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Slick Paws was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Boreland pleaded guilty to the charge, Slick Paws must perform a satisfactory trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
