Steward's Report
Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8. Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff, at all times.
All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful heatlh screenings that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.
Mr. P. Abela was fined $50 for failing to ensure the registration card was produced for the greyhound Outstanding News pursuant to GAR 33.
Just A Fidget - Late scratching at 14:53 on the advice of the On-Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to a left wrist sprain. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Magic Indeed and McIvor Ernie collided soon after the start checking Magic Indeed. This Time Bro and Outstanding News collided soon after the start. Outstanding News and Magic Indeed collided approaching the first turn checking Magic Indeed. Tommy's No Angel visibly eased and turned it's head outwards on the first turn. Outstanding News and Leo's My Champ collided on the first turn checking Outstanding News. McIvor Ernie and Tommy's No Angel collided entering the home straight severely checking McIvor Ernie which collided with Exclusively Mine. Tommy's No Angel and Exclusively Mine collided several times approaching the winning post checking Exclusively Mine.
Tommy's No Angel underwent a post-race veterinary examination and re-vetted after race 6, and was found to have a right monkey muscle injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. J. Formosa, regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Tommy's No Angel was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Formosa pleaded guilty to the charge, Tommy's No Angel must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
