A pre-race sample was taken from Nimble Nala.
Cullquin Elijah stumbled at box rise and was very slow to begin (3L). Ko Rapid Jack and Chatty Garry collided soon after the start. Springvale Misty and Nimble Nala collided soon after the start checking Springvale Misty. Ko Rapid Jack, Crackerjack Mick and Kraken Bam Bam collided approaching the first turn checking Crackerjack Mick. Springvale Misty and Chatty Garry collided on the first turn. Ko Rapid Jack and Kraken Bam Bam collided approaching the home turn checking Ko Rapid Jack. Cullquin Elijah clipped the heels of Ko Rapid Jack approaching the home turn checking Cullquin Elijah and Springvale Misty. Kraken Bam Bam clipped the heels of Nimble Nala entering the home straight.
Cullquin Elijah underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have superficial spike wounds to the the left hind foot. No stand down period was imposed.
