Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Darkest Tears.
Midnight Titan, Dreamin' Is Free, Zipping Hazel, Dearest Tears and Moonie Convoy collided on the first turn checking Midnight Titan, Dreamin' Is Free, Zipping Hazel, Dearest Tears, Moonie Convoy and New Punchline. Zipping Hazel visibly eased, turned its head outwards and contacted Moonie Convoy approaching the winning post.
Zipping Hazel underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left monkey muscle, left hamstring injuries and bruising to the right tibia, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr A. Farley, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Zipping Hazel was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Farley pleaded guilty to the charge, Zipping Hazel must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Midnight Titan underwent a post-race veterinary examination following an incident entering the catching pen - no apparent injury was reported.
