Valak underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured left monkey muscle.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. S. Curtain regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the first turn.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1) Valak was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Curtain pleaded guilty to the charge, Valak must perform a satisfactory trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Mr. W. McMahon was fined $50 for failing to ensure the registration card was produced for the greyhound Inuka pursuant to GAR 33.

Darcon Raider, As Only Is and Owlette were quick to begin.  Bearing Gold was slow to begin.  Akina Spot and Darcon Raider collided on the first turn checking Bernmar Junior, Grab That Earn, Darcon Raider and Owlette and severely checking River Bank, Bearing Gold and Akina Spot.  Bernmar Junior and Grab That Earn collided on the first turn checking Bernmar Junior, Grab That Earn and Bearing Gold.  Bernmar Junior galloped on River Bank approaching the home turn checking Grab That Earn, Bearing Gold and Akina Spot and severely checking Bernmar Junior and River Bank causing both greyhounds to stumble, Grab That Earn, Bearing Gold and Akina Spot raced wide as a result.
