Don't Tell Pappa and Neo Bale were slow to begin. Go Pies and Ivalise Allen collided soon after the start checking Ivalise Allen. Ernie Bale and Lektra Swing collided approaching the first turn. Go Pies and Speedy Spyro collided approaching the first turn. Lektra Swing, Go Pies and Speedy Spyro collided on the first turn checking Ivalise Allen and Don't Tell Pappa and severely checking Lektra Swing which fell. Ernie Bale and Speedy Spyro collided on the home turn.
Lektra Swing underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have bruising over the right shoulder and thigh. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
