Steward's Report
Prior to the running of this event and due to continuing rainfall, Stewards walked the track and deemed it fit for racing.
Blue Striker was quick to begin.
Hooked On Scotch and Mepunga Isla collided soon after the start. Agent Laylan checked off Cappy Morgan approaching the first turn causing Agent Laylan to stumble and collide with Hooked On Scotch. Cappy Morgan faulted on the first turn and lost significant ground. Cappy Morgan and Agent Laylan collided approaching the home turn. Hooked On Scotch checked off Blue Striker approaching the home turn. Mepunga Isla and Mighty Max Gone collided entering the home straight, checking both greyhounds.
Cappy Morgan underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hindleg tarsal fracture/ dislocation. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.
Post-race samples were taken from Hooked On Scotch (1st) and Blue Striker (2nd).
