Magic Shout was slow to begin. Midnight Hawk and Lightning Blue collided on the first turn. Claretown Trixie checked off Lightning Blue on the home turn. Magic Shout raced wide entering the home straight. Wild Brutality and Wrangle collided several times in the home straight, severely checking both greyhounds, causing Wild Brutality to pull up. Magic Oyster and Lightning Blue collided in the home straight.

Remain Seated checked off Rhino Rex soon after the start, severly checking Remain Seated which fell as a result. Rhino Rex brushed the running rail approaching the first turn. Usain Beast and Gunmetal Liam collided entering the home straight.

Remain Seated underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have abrasions and lacerations to the right and left fore limbs, right fore wrist and right hand lateral hock. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
