A pre-race sample was taken from Justin Rose.
Foxy Princess and Gypsy Kiowa were quick to begin. Coughlin's Law was slow to begin.
Spark Joy, Kinloch Journey and Street Artist collided soon after the start checking Street Artist. Coughlin's Law and Gypsy Kiowa collided approaching the first turn. Spark Joy visibly eased approaching the first turn and on the first turn. Street Artist and Coughlin's Law collided on the first turn. Coughlin's Law and Gypsy Kiowa collided in the home straight.
Spark Joy underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 5. Spark Joy was found to have a right wrist sprain, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr G. Minne the representative, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the first turn and on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Spark Joy was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Minne pleaded not guilty to the charge, Spark Joy was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
