Steward's Report
Pursuant to GAR 104(7) Steward Miss D. Barber did not act in any official capacity for this event.
Heidi Intention and Flojo Mikado collided soon after the start. Mepunga Spectre and Heidi Intention collided approaching the first turn checking Heidi Intention. Close Encounter and Mepunga Spectre collided on the first turn. Heidi Intention, Flojo Mikado and Mepunga Spectre collided on the first turn. Mepunga Spectre visibly eased approaching the second turn. Heidi Intention tired over the concluding stages.
Mepunga Spectre underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to both wrists. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Matthew Lanigan, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the second turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Mepunga Spectre was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Lanigan pleaded guilty to the charge, Mepunga Spectre must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Heidi Intention underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
