Rico's Amore and Mitch Bale were slow to begin. 

Lara Tara, Chasing Beers, Rico's Amore, Shifting Sands and Mitch Bale collided on the first turn severely checking Chasing Beers and Rico's Amore which lost ground as a result. Rico's Amore and Chasing Beers collided approahcng the second turn. Patrick Francis checked off Liam Roxon approaching the home turn. Shifting Sands and Liam Roxon collided approahcing the home turn.

Stewards issued a warning to licensed catcher Mrs Carole Brinsley after she failed to catch the greyhound Mitch Bale in this event. Stewards accepted that Mrs Brinsley was in the vicinity of the catching pen area and had immediately taken access of the greyhound from the club's catching pen attendant.

Chasing Beers underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left wrist injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Luckie Karabitsakos after he failed to present Rico's Amore for a post-race veterinary examination.  Mr. Karabitsakos advised that he was unaware the greyhound was to be vetted and that the greyhound had left the course with a family member.  Stewards directed that Mr Karabitsakos present Rico's Amore at Cranbourne on Wednesday, 4 September, 2019 for an examination by the on-course Veterinarian.  Stewards also reminded Mr Karabitsakos that he must obtain a clearance by Stewards before allowing his greyhounds to leave the course.
