Steward's Report

Gazza's Pick, Nicko Express, Steel Magnolia and Primo Beso collided soon after the start. Apache Chaz and Mr. Rain Maker collided on the first turn checking Apache Chaz. Flash Fernando and Mr. Rain Maker collided approaching the second turn. Nicko Express raced wide in the back straight. Steel Magnolia and Gazza's Pick collided on the second turn severely checking Gazza's Pick which collided with Nicko's Express. Flash Fernando, Apache Chaz and Mr. Rain Maker collided on the second turn checking Mr. Rain Maker. Flash Fernando and Mr. Rain Maker collided approaching the home turn. Steel Magnolia clipped the heels of Flash Fernando entering the home straight checking Steel Magnolia. Steel Magnolia and Mr. Rain Maker raced wide entering the home straight. Apache Chaz and Primo Beso collided approaching the winning post.

Apache Chaz underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was found.

Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Higgins regarding the racing manners of Apache Chaz during the event. Stewards accepted Mr Higgins' explanation and after viewing all available footage and acting on their own observations, Stewards took no further action.

A post-race sample was taken from Gigi's Fire, winner of the event.
