Steward's Report
A sample was taken from Close Encounter upon arrival at the course.
Close Encounter and Sensory were slow to begin. Stagger Loot was very slow (3 lengths).
Sensory galloped on Heavy Fuel approaching the second turn causing Heavy Fuel to stumble and race wide checking Sensory and Hedonistic. Stagger Loot brushed the running rail on the second turn. Heavy Fuel and Sensory collided approaching the home turn checking Heavy Fuel. Heavy Fuel galloped on Stagger Loot approaching the winning post checking both greyhounds.
Stagger Loot underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left monkey muscle injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Scott Something - winner of the event.
GRV Investigators conducted a check of catcher’s licences in accordance with LR 16.2 and all were compliant.
