A pre-race sample was taken from Nero Frizzante.
Let's Roll was quick to begin.
Nero Frizzante, Cloncurry Girl and Ebonique collided approaching the first turn checking Ebonique. Mahjong Buddy and Shaun John collided on the first turn checking Mahjong Buddy, causing Mahjong Buddy and Ebonique to collide. Nero Frizzante, Let's Roll and Kinloch Journey collided approaching the home turn checking Nero Frizzante and Kinloch Journey, both raced wide as a result. Nero Frizzante turned its head outwards on the home turn checking Kinloch Journey. Ebonique and Let's Roll collided in the home straight.
Nero Frizzante underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right tarsal sprain and an abrasion to the right hock, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative Mr A. Xerri, regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Nero Frizzante was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Xerri pleaded guilty to the charge, Nero Frizzante must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
