Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Buddy Goes Bang.
Whatever I Want and Dundee Joker were quick to begin.
Whatever I Want, Pair Of Nines, Terren's Close, Space Truking and One Night Only collided approaching the first turn checking Terren's Close and One Night Only , causing Dex's Affair, Terren's Close and One Night Only to collide, Dex's Affair raced wide as result and collided with Space Trucking and Pair Of Nines checking Buddy Goes Bang, Dex's Affair lost significant ground and subsequently tailed off. Space Trucking and Buddy Goes Bang collided approaching the home turn. Space Trucking marred Buddy Goes Bang on the home turn. Space Trucking and Buddy Goes Bang collided several times in the home straight checking both greyhounds.
Dex's Affair underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right wrist sprain. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr J. Clay, the trainer of Dex's Affair regarding its racing manners approaching the second turn. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Dex's Affair must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards spoke to Mr S. Van Orischot, the trainer of Space Trucking regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Space Trucking was charged with marring. Mr Van Orischot pleaded guilty to the charge, Space Trucking is suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
