Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Suited Kings was very slow to begin (3 lengths).  Star Blazer and Aston Kipchoge were slow to begin.  Star Blazer, Aston Kipchoge and Bounce Back collided soon after the start.  Bounce Back and Aston Kipchoge collided approaching the first turn.  Electrifying eased on the first turn and collided with Tig and Och Eye Mum.  Star Blazer checked off Tig on the first turn.  Suited Kings checked off Electrifying on the second turn.  Bounce Back checked off Tig entering the back straight, severely checking Star Blazer and Bounce Back.  Electrifying and Suited Kings collided approaching the third turn and again approaching the home turn.  Electrifying and Suited Kings collided approaching the home turn.Tig and Aston Kipchoge collided several times in the home straight checking Tig. Electrifying was vetted following the event and was revetted following Race 3.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left back muscle and right hamstrings, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to Representative, Mr L. Thompson, regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Electrifying was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr L Thompson pleaded guilty to the charge, Electrifying must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

It's Not Fun was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left back muscle, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.  It's Not Fun turned in the boxes and took no competitive part in the race and was placed on a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR52(1).

Winlock Newbolt and Rock And Roll were slow to begin.  Halberd Bale, Dyna Romy and Thistle Smoke collided soon after the start.  Dyna Romy crossed to the outside approaching the first turn checking Rock And Roll and Winlock Newbolt.  Lucy's Milo and Thistle Smoke collided on the first turn and again on the second turn checking Lucy's Milo.  Dyna Romy and Medina collided on the third turn.  Lucy's Milo checked off Thistle Smoke approaching the home turn.

Rockstar Gareth - Late scratching at 6:03 on the advice of the On-Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to a right hind toe injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. 

King Gristle and Orwell Bale were slow to begin.  Off To Monaco was quick to begin.  King Gristle and Orwell Bale collided soon after the start.  Off To Monaco, Sweet Impala and Fabriola Zad collided approaching the first turn checking Off To Monaco, Sweet Impala and Orwell Bale.  Off To Monaco checked off Orwell Bale on the third turn.  Orwell Bale and Sweet Impala collided approaching the home turn.  Sweet Impala eased in the home straight and collided with King Gristle.

Sweet Impala was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.  Stewards spoke to Trainer, Mr J. Borg. regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1), Sweet Impala was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr Borg pleaded not guilty to the charge, Sweet Impala was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Cursed was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.  Stewards spoke to Mr N Jones (representing Trainer - Mr A Azzopardi) of Cursed regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1), Cursed was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr Jones  pleaded guilty to the charge, Cursed is suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
