Steward's Report
The Stewards attended the kennel property of Mrs Angela Langton & Mr Jeff Britton this morning at around 10am to personally check the bonafides of the withdrawal of Security Code from the Warrnambool Cup, significantly so in light of Spearhead (9) being from the same kennel and directly gaining a start as a result of the scratching. The Stewards were able to verify the injury to the achilles tendon of Security Code (as reported) and were entirely satisfied as to the authenticity of the matter. No further action was required.
Out of competition samples were taken from Simon Told Helen, Zambora Smokey, Aston Cade, Razor Sharp, Jax Bale, Faithy Bale, Leon Bale, Security Code (SCR) and Spearhead (Res) on 5 May 2020, pursuant to GAR 79 A.
Faithy Bale and Leon Bale were quick to begin. Faithy Bale shifted in soon after the start checking Razor Sharp and Aston Cade. Spearhead galloped on Leon Bale on the first turn. Jax Bale checked off Spearhead on the first turn. Aston Cade and Razor Sharp collided on the first turn severely checking Aston Cade. Razor Sharp and Spearhead collided entering the home straight.
Post-race urine & blood samples were taken from the winner, Zambora Smokey (1st)
