Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Hello Keen and Flaunt It Ollie were quick to begin. Blue Bonnet and Joe Baker were slow to begin. Mandalo turned in the boxes and took no competitive part in the event. 

Ollie's Hope checked off Lovely Sienna on the first turn checking Blue Bonnet. Blue Bonnet galloped on Flaunt It Ollie approaching the home turn. Joe Baker and Flaunt It Ollie collided approaching the home turn. Lovely Sienna raced wide on the home turn. 

Mandalo underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right stopper sprian. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. 

Mandalo - Turned in the boxes and took no competitive part in the race. Placed on a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 52(1).

Zipping Reuben was slow to begin. Terka Wye shifted out soon after the start checking My Mate Didgie. My Mate Didgie, Terka Wye and Short Tyson collided on the first turn. Silver Bronx crossed to the rails on the first turn checking Sienna's Ace, Silver Bronx, My Mate Didgie, Zipping Reuben, Terka Wye and Short Tyson. My Mate Didgie and Short Tyson raced wide on the home turn. 

Indy Orlando was quick to begin. Fabriola Yes and Mudslide were slow to begin. 

Madam Malkin and Wise Storm collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Mediation and Cawbourne Blaze collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Fabriola Yes and Pansy Parkinson collided several times from the first turn to approaching the home turn. Madam Malkin raced wide on the home turn. Mediation checked off Pansy Parkinson entering the home straight. Pansy Parkinson stumbled in the home straight. 

Lektra Midnight was slow to begin and collided with Aston Prestige soon after the start checking Aston Prestige. Marli Ann, Lektra Midnight and Aston Prestige collided soon after the start. Karma Bale and Confession collided approaching the home turn. Lektra Mignight checked off Marli Ann on the first turn checking Marli Ann; Aston Prestige galloped on Marli Ann as a result checking Aston Prestige and Lektra Midnight and severely checking Marli Ann. Quail Bale and Hillbilly Road collided on the first turn checking Hillbilly Road. Confession checked off Hillbilly Road approaching the home turn and collided with Karma Bale. Lektra Midnight raced wide on the home turn. 

Marli Ann underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured left monkey muscle. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Lektra Yoyo was quick to begin. Broken Drum slow to begin. Dark Jedi checked off Lektra Yoyo approaching the first turn. Bayside Bourbski checked off Broken Drum on the first turn. Bayside Bourbski and Graceful Light collided on the first turn. Dark Jedi brushed the running rail approaching the home turn. Zipping Benson checked off Graceful Light approaching the home turn. Local Brew checked off Zipping Benson on the home turn. 

The Stewards attended the kennel property of Mrs Angela Langton & Mr Jeff Britton this morning at around 10am to personally check the bonafides of the withdrawal of Security Code from the Warrnambool Cup, significantly so in light of Spearhead (9) being from the same kennel and directly gaining a start as a result of the scratching. The Stewards were able to verify the injury to the achilles tendon of Security Code (as reported) and were entirely satisfied as to the authenticity of the matter. No further action was required.

Out of competition samples were taken from Simon Told Helen, Zambora Smokey, Aston Cade, Razor Sharp, Jax Bale, Faithy Bale, Leon Bale, Security Code (SCR) and Spearhead (Res) on 5 May 2020, pursuant to GAR 79 A. 

Faithy Bale and Leon Bale were quick to begin. Faithy Bale shifted in soon after the start checking Razor Sharp and Aston Cade. Spearhead galloped on Leon Bale on the first turn. Jax Bale checked off Spearhead on the first turn. Aston Cade and Razor Sharp collided on the first turn severely checking Aston Cade. Razor Sharp and Spearhead collided entering the home straight.

The Stewards interviewed Trainer Mr David Geall in relation to the withdrawal of Vapour Blaze from this race. The Stewards have requested the Veterinary Treatment Records for Vapour Blaze for the preceeding two weeks to be produced for review and further, acting in accordance with GAR 20 (3)(v), that a veterinary certificate of fitness is produced to Stewards, before any further nominations are accepted for Vapour Blaze. 

Molly's Wally – New declared weight of 34.0 kg's, last raced at 35.1 kg's.

Elvisa Bale was quick to begin. Thomeli Monster checked off Molly's Wally approaching the first turn. Fire Legend crossed to the rails on the first turn checking Lektra Perry. 

Blue Shadows was quick to begin. Weblec Haze and Rockstar Beav collided on the first turn. Weblec Haze checked off Mepunga Specture on the third turn and collided with Rockstar Beav. Blue Shadows and Mepunga Spectre collided approaching the home turn. Weblec Haze checked off Blue Shadows approaching the home turn.

Speed Star and Hooked On Scotch were quick to begin.

A post-race sample was taken from Hooked On Scotch - the winner of the event. 

Blue Emerald and Fabriola Citrus collided soon after the start causing Fabriola Citrus to stumble. Cookie Deeds and Wise Thunder collided soon after the start checking Cookie Deeds. Nessa's Zara and Yoel Bale collided approaching the first turn checking Yoel Bale. Flying Zara checked off Wise Thunder on the first turn causing Yoel Bale to gallop on Flying Zara, checking Berkel Boy and Cookie Deeds and severely checking Flying Zara and Yoel Bale. Yoel Bale, Flying Zara and Cookie Deeds collided approaching the home turn checking Flying Zara, Cookie Deeds, Fabriola Citrus and Berkel Boy; Blue Emerald fell as a result. Nessa's Zara raced wide from the home turn to the winning post. 

Blue Emerald underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have general soreness. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Drew, the representative of Aston Ninja, regarding the scratching of the greyhound in tonight's event. Mr. Drew stated that Aston Ninja pulled up lame after he had worked the greyhound late Monday. Mr. Drew added that the greyhound was still lame the following day and it was his intention to retire the greyhound from racing. Stewards noted Mr. Drew's comments and took no further action.  

Slingshot Reaper– New declared weight of 29.9 kg's, last raced at 28.8 kg's.

Saintly Jack was quick to begin. Aston Mirage crossed to the rails on the first turn checking Dim Sim, Saintly Jack and Slingshot Reaper and severely checking Zipping Norton. Slingshot Reaper checked off Aston Mirage on the first turn causing Wilbur Deeds to gallop on Slingshot Reaper, checking Slingshot Reaper and Wilbur Deeds. Dim Sim and Wilbur Deeds collided in the home straight. 

A post-race blood sample was taken from Aston Mirage - the winner of the event. 

Mini Yaala was quick to begin. Midnight Rage, Josephine and Shima Melody collided soon after the start checking Josephine. Midnight Rage checked off Beaut Deeds on the first turn. Narcelle clipped the heels of Rotate on the first turn. Rotate and Beaut Deeds collided entering the home straight. Midnight Rage and Narcelle collided in the home straight. Josephine faded in the home straight.

Josephine underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the right monkey muscle and right pencil muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. 

Mr Keith Lloyd failed to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve and prepare Josephine for racing.  Mr Lloyd was fined $100.00 pursuant to GAR 46 (2)
