A pre-race sample was taken from Mr. Lonely.

Lava Street, Another Storm and Pliskova were quick to begin.

Mr. Lonely and Crown Nikki collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds. Lava Street and Another Storm collided approaching the first turn checking Lava Street. Crown Nikki, Mr. Lonely and Shortest Straw collided on the first turn checking Crown Nikki and severely checking Mr. Lonely and Shortest Straw. Lava Street galloped on Pliskova approaching the home turn checking Pliskova. Pliskova crossed wide on the home turn.

Mr. Lonely underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left monkey muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
