Abyssal underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a lumbo-sacral injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr R Chivell, the trainer of Abyssal and acting under GAR 75 (1) Stewards ordered Mr Chivell to report as soon as practicable anything that may have affected the running of the greyhound in the event which was not noted by Stewads during or immediately after the event.

Post-race samples were taken from Zipping Stan (1st), Lightning Ben (2nd) and Zipping Navy (3rd).

Stewards reviewed the CCTV footage of the kennel bay security post-race. Whilst the kennel bay gate was left open and unattended Stewards ascertained that no person entered the kennel bay. The Club kennel attendants were reminded of their responsibilites to ensure access to the kennels is secure at all times.

A sample was taken from Sub Zero Magic upon arrival at the course.

Mr C Grenfell was issued with a warning pursuant to GAR 86(o) after the greyhound Dyna Eleana was negligently placed in the incorrect kennel during the kennelling process. The kennel staff were reminded of their responsibilities to ensure greyhounds are kennelled correctly. This matter was referred to the Club Manager for further consideration.
