Steward's Report
This meeting was delayed following the running of Race 6 due to thunderstorm activity in the area. Initial advice from the Bureau of Meteorology was that the thunderstorm activity should pass within 15-20 minutes. Shortly afterwards there was a power outage which caused an additional delay while the track lights were reset.
Stewards conducted a track inspection at approximately 9:00pm, prior to resuming the meeting, and found that water had pooled in front of the 390m and 450m boxes. Club officials attempted remedial works to remove the water; however, they were unsuccessful due to continuing rainfall. After consulting with club officials and acting on advice from the Bureau of Meteorology that further rain and possible lightning were forecast, Stewards abandoned the remainder of the meeting at 9:17pm.
