Mia's Hand was quick to begin.

Angie Ling and Route Sixty Six collided soon after the start.  Shanlyn Haven, Aston Chandon, Angie Ling, Route Sixty Six, Sole Trader, Bethany Rose and Optimus Dusty collided approaching the first turn checking Aston Chandon, Shanlyn Haven and Bethany Rose.  Sole Trader and Mia's Hand collided on the first turn severely checking Optimus Dusty and Sole Trader, Sole Trader stumbled as a result.  Aston Chandon, Route Sixty Six and Angie Ling collided on the first turn checking Route Sixty Six, severely checking Bethany Rose and Optimus Dusty and causing Angie Ling to fall.  Shanlyn Haven checked off Bethany Rose on the first turn and raced wide. Sole Trader checked off Optimus Dusty on the second turn.  Mia's Hand and Route Sixty Six collided approaching the third turn and again on the third turn.  

Angie Ling underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.

Sole Trader underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.

Stewards spoke to Miss K. Cottrell, the representative of Sole Trader regarding its performance on the first turn. Miss Cottrell submitted that the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn was due to severe interference, and inexperience. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Sole Trader must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
