Zamora Tara checked off Beth Ablaze soon after the start.  Little Kiddy and She'll Be White collided approaching the first turn.  Patient Panda and Kip Your Best collided on the first turn.  Jazz Fusion checked off She'll Be White on the first turn and raced wide.  Zamora Tara and Sisters Lee collided on the first turn and again on the home turn.  She'll Be White checked off Sisters Lee entering the home straight.  Sisters Lee and She'll Be White collided in the home straight severely checking both greyhounds.

Kip Your Best underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right pencil muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Carrow Road and Baz The Rocket were slow to begin.

Baz The Rocket and Brand New collided soon after the start.  Rock Me Elijah checked off White Mischief collided approaching the first turn.  Rock Me Elijah, Baz The Rocket and Brand New collided on the first turn.  Rock Me Elijah raced wide approaching the home turn severely checking Baz The Rocket.  Brand New contacted the running rail on the home turn.

Mt. View Gift, Vineyard and Cheeky Bumpa were quick to begin.

Bombardier King and Charlie's Feet collided soon after the start.  Vineyard, Mischief Reigns and Cheeky Bumpa collided soon after the start.  Bombardier King and Charlie's Feet collided approaching the first turn.  Mahjong Nickel and Mischief Reigns collided approaching the first turn checking Mahjong Nickel.  Charlie's Feet and Mt. View Gift collided approaching the home turn.

A post-race sample was taken from Vineyard - the winner of the event.

Gypsy Kiowa, No Sugar, Killara John and Aston Ronaldo collided soon after the start.  Aston Ronaldo, Galloping Nikki and Salut Bianca collided approaching the first turn; Salut Bianca brushed the running rail and was severely checked as a result.  Galloping Nikki galloped on No Sugar on the first turn. 

Salut Bianca underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.

Why Not Lola was quick to begin.

Crackerjack Tim checked off Annaley Rooka on the first turn checking Annaley Rooka, Crackerjack Tim, Bowie Boy, Paua To Avoid and Milo And Milk.  Bowie Boy and Milo And Milk collided approaching the home turn.  Meehan Deano raced wide in the home straight. 

Sweet Gabriella was quick to begin.  Greysynd Mercury and Akina Error were slow to begin.

Bobby Ray faltered and raced wide on the first turn checking Elle Est Bonne and severely checking Dundee Blitz and Uzzi Bale; Bobby Ray pulled up as a result.  Greysynd Mercury checked off Sweet Gabriella entering the back straight.  Uzzi Bale checked off Akina Error entering the back straight.

Bobby Ray underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left monkey muscle injury. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Greysynd Mercury underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have abrasions to the left metacarpals. No stand down period was imposed.

This event was delayed by approximately 2 minutes due to the On Track Veterinarian attending to an injured greyhound from the previous race.

Five Times Table, Gone Early and Architecture were slow to begin.

Mini Fernando galloped on Pistol on the first turn checking Tuiaki Dora.  Gone Early checked off Checker Plate on the first turn checking Architecture.  Gone Early and Architecture collided on the home turn and approaching the winning post.

A post-race sample was taken from Vladimir Rose - the winner of the event.

Karaka and Tiger Dusty collided several times from soon after the start to approaching the first turn.  Rodeo and Charlie Haze raced wide on the first turn.  Tiger Dusty and Deano's Smidge collided on the second turn checking Tiger Dusty.  Rodeo and Charlie Haze raced wide in the back straight.  Karaka tired and lost ground from approaching the home turn to the winning post.

Karaka underwent a post-race veterinary examination after performing below market expectations - no apparent injury was reported. 

Stewards spoke to Mr Robert Moles, the trainer of Karaka regarding the greyhound's performance.  Mr Moles stated that Karaka never races well from an inside draw and the greyhound performed as he expected.

Silver Sultan was slow to begin.

Janiya Bale and Queen Lita collided approaching the first turn checking Queen Lita.  Zipping Cisco and On Degoey collided on the first turn severely checking On Degoey.  Silver Sultan checked off Aston Vino on the first turn and collided with Queen Lita; severely checking Silver Sultan and Queen Lita.  Pennine Way and Kramer Bale collided on the first turn checking Aston Vino, Pennine Way and Janiya Bale.  Silver Sultan galloped on On Degoey approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.  

All For Now and Monty Python were slow to begin.

Pacific Action and Our Ryker collided on the first turn.  Monty Python raced wide on the the first turn severely checking Once A Secret and Party Muscles; causing Once A Secret to race wide as a result.

Monty Python underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the left hind paw. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Woodleigh Sal underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the right foreleg paw. No stand down period was imposed.

Fiesty Ivy was quick to begin.  Trim City was slow to begin.

Fiesty Ivy and Five Lights collided on the first turn checking Five Lights.  Pacific Coast galloped on Fiesty Ivy approaching the home turn severely checking both greyhounds.  Five Lights galloped on Fiesty Ivy on the home turn and collided with Pacific Coast.  Fiesty Girl and Our Bravo Rose collided in the home straight.

Placid Murphy and Farfalla Nera collided soon after the start.  Placid Murphy checked off Tinderella on the first turn.  One More Light and Aremac Igor collided on the first turn.  Early King crossed to the outside on the home turn and collided with Tinerella checking both greyhounds.

Following the event Placid Murphy displayed signs of Post Exercise Distress Syndrome (PEDS). As a result, the greyhound underwent a veterinary examination and was found to be displaying clinical signs of Ataxia/Hypermetria. A 7 day stand down penalty was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Trevor Whitford, the trainer of Placid Murphy. After hearing submissions, the Stewards acted in accordance with GAR 74 and Placid Murphy must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) and receive a veterinary clearance before any future nomination will be accepted.

Farfalla Nera underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. 

A post-race sample was taken from One More Light - the winner of the event.

Meeting Comments

Starman – Performed a Stewards Satisfactory Trial as the greyhound has not competed in an event for in excess of six months due to left hock injury. Weighing 32.1kg and beginning from box 1, Starman completed the 311m trial distance in a time of 18.17. Starman placed 1st in a field of 4 starters winning by 6.25 lenghts. Starman has been cleared to race.

A sample was taken from Starman prior to the trial in accordance with GAR 79 (1), having presented for a satisfactory trial.

Rock Me Xanthe – Performed a Stewards Satisfactory Trial as the greyhound was stood down from racing at Cranbourne for Fail To Chase. Weighing 28.7kg and beginning from box 8, Rock Me Xanthe completed the 311m trial distance in a time of 18.72. Rock Me Xanthe placed 3rd in a field of 4 starters beaten by 8 lengths. Rock Me Xanthe has not been cleared to race as it eased on the first turn.
