Someone Blue was slow to begin.
Merl's Angel checked off Discovered soon after the start. Discovered and North Wind collided soon after the start severely checking Discovered. Dyna Saurus and Kathleen's Kiss collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Merl's Angel and North Wind collided approaching the home turn checking North Wind. Discovered raced wide on the home turn. Dyna Saurus and Merl's Angel collided approaching the winning post.
A post-race sample was taken from Dyna Saurus - unplaced in the event.
Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Gibbons, the handler of Dyna Saurus regarding a significant market move on fixed odds betting for the greyhound in tonight's event ($14 to $5). Mr. Gibbons stated that the kennel did not support the greyhound tonight and he was unaware of such market moves for Dyna Saurus. Mr. Gibbons was unable to offer much insight into the preparation of the greyhound for tonight's race as he was acting solely as the handler for the trainer Ms. R. Gibbons. Stewards noted Mr. Gibbons' explanation.
