Steward's Report
The start of this race was delayed by approximately 1 1/2 minutes to allow track staff to clear wildlife from the track.
New Cross Gate, Curlin' Merlin and Unrivalled Dusty were slow to begin.
Dim Sim and Gardener's Girl collided soon after the start checking Gardener's Girl. Gardiner's Girl lost ground approaching the first turn and was tailed off as a result. Unrivalled Dusty raced wide on the home turn. Don's Scolari and Curlin' Merlin collided in the home straight checking Curlin' Merlin.
Curlin' Merlin underwent a post-race veterinary examination - and was found to have an injury to the right foreleg wrist. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Gardener's Girl underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 3, no apparent injury could be detected.
Stewards spoke to Mr W Donlon, the handler of Gardener's Girl regarding its performance in this event. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Gardener's Girl must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
