A pre-race sample was taken from Typhoon Tessie.
Kroos was slow to begin. Paisley, Typhoon Tessie, Posterior Chain and Cosmic Fox collided soon after the start checking Hot Pies and Cosmic Fox. Kroos was checked off Rose Rose on the first turn. Hot Pies and Wears Woodleigh raced wide in the home straight.
Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Seymour the trainer of Typhoon Tessie and issued him with a warning regarding the greyhound's box manners.
