Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Straaljager, a post race sample was subsequently taken.
Tigga Toy, Straaljager and Tearaway Train were slow to begin.
Nick's Never and Hot Cruiser collided soon after the start. Nick's Never, Hot Cruiser and Tearaway Train collided soon after the start. Nick's Never and Hot Cruiser collided at the 300m mark. Tigga Toy, Straaljager, Miss Ledekey, Abby Boom and Tearaway Train collided at the 250m mark. Straaljager and Miss Ledekey collided at the 200m mark. Miss Ledekey visibly eased and collided with Tearaway Train approaching the winning post.
Miss Ledekey underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mr Calven Russell, the trainer of Miss Ledekey regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Miss Ledekey was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Russell pleaded guilty to the charge, Miss Ledekey is suspended for 28 days at Healesville and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Abby Boom - the winner of the event.
