Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Blackhawk Parker.
Rhomboid, Go Zippy Go and Doran's Grove were slow to begin.
Miss Pocket Aces and Zade's Magic collided approaching the 200m mark. Bring The Spring and Go Zippy Go collided at the 150m mark. Go Zippy Go checked off Bring The Spring approaching the winning post.
Rhomboid underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hip injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Meeting Comments:
Stewards spoke to Mr D. Reid at Healesville on Sunday 9/6/19 regarding an incident in which a greyhound identified as Mowgli Express escaped from a vehicle in the vicinity of the carpark. After considering all the evidence, Stewards charged Mr Reid with a breach of GAR 86(o) in that he negligently failed to ensure that greyhound Mowgli Express was securely locked in his vehicle causing the greyhound to escape and run in the carpark. Stewards found Mr Reid guilty as charged and fined him the sum of $100. In considering penalty, Stewards took into consideration Mr Reid's longevity of over 40 years in the greyhound industry.
Scartnamuck Diva – Performed a Stewards Satisfactory Trial as the greyhound was stood down from racing at Cranbourne for failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Weighing 28.0kg and beginning from box 7, Scartnamuck Diva completed the 300m trial distance in a time of 17.15. Scartnamuck placed 2nd in a field of 4 beaten by 0.5L. Scartnamuck Diva has been not cleared to race as the greyhound visibly eased at the 175m mark.
