Steward's Report

Trainer Michael Hendy was questioned regarding the significant betting fluctuation for Hillbilly Boy in this event. Mr Hendy was surprised to hear of the greyhound firming significantly and had not backed the greyhound. Mr Hendy stated that the greyhound finished off well at Bendigo at its most recent start however has not publicly trialled since. Mr Hendy's comments were noted. A pre race sample was taken.

Dynastic Ruler was quick to begin.

Impala and Hillbilly Boy collided soon after the start, unbalancing Hillbilly Boy. Agent Que checked off It's A Diva soon after the start. Monaro Joe checked off It's A Diva approaching the first turn. It's A Diva checked off Fawn Regrets on the first turn. Monaro Joe, Agent Que and Hillbilly Boy collided on the first turn checking Agent Que and Hillbilly Boy. Impala and Fawn Regrets collided on the home turn. Agent Que raced wide on the home turn.

Hillbilly Boy underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have abrasions to the right wrist and left hind toes. No stand down period was imposed. Trainer Michael Hendy was questioned regarding the race manner of the greyhound soon after the start. Mr Hendy explained that the greyhound collided with Impala turning Hillbilly Boy's head inwards as the greyhound became unbalanced. Stewards noted Mr Hendy's explanation. 

Dynastic Ruler underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the left monkey muscle. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Warning issued for race manner approaching winning post.
