Steward's Report
Kennels closed 7 minutes later than the advertised time due to Mr Brett Cook arriving late on course due to a traffic accident. Mr Cook's explanation was noted.
Merriview Benny was quick to begin.
Pyrenees Knight and Looming Lara collided soon after the start checking Pyrenees Knight. Felicia Bale and Inga Lina collided soon after the start. Expresso Love and Merriview Benny collided on the first turn turn checking Expresso Love, Merriview Benny and Inga Lina. Inga Lina and Expresso Love colllided on the home turn. Expresso Love checked off Felicia Bale entering the home straight. Felicia Bale raced wide in the home straight. Yanira Bale raced wide on the home turn and collided with Flaming Fabio. Yanira Bale eased in the home straight and turned its head outwards.
A post-race sample was taken from Expresso Love - the winner of the event.
Yanira Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left monkey muscle injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to handler Mr Briffa, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Yanira Bale was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Briffa pleaded guilty to the charge, Yanira Bale must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
