Steward's Report
This event was declared a no race after the greyhounds caught the lure due to a mechanical failure with the lure.
Veterinary Surgeon Ms. C. Hayes observed the greyhounds following the incident and was satisfied that no greyhound required veterinary attention.
Meeting comments:
Following a mechanical failure during the running of race 1 the lure underwent extensive mechanical testing at which time it was found that the cable on the drive wheel was slipping . After consulting with Track Manager Mr. M. Bickerdike Stewards abandoned the meeting at 7.40 pm after it became apparent that the issue could not be rectified within a reasonable time frame to proceed with the meeting.
SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT:
Stewards conducted an investigation into an incident that accured during the kennelling process where it was reported that Mr Kelvin Browney engaged in a verbal altercation with Mr Ronald Wood. After taking evidence from both parties and viewing the CCTV footage, Stewards issued a warning to Mr Browney Pursuant to GAR 86 (q) after he engaged in conduct that was deemed to be detrimental to the image of greyhound racing.
