Banyuatis and Kiwi Swagger collided soon after the start, checking Kiwi Swagger and Ugo Girl. Blockette and Zipping Ester collided on the first turn, checking Blockette. Kiwi Swagger faltered on the first turn and lost ground as a result. Keeping Busy checked off Blockette on the first turn, checking Kiwi Swagger. Banyuatis and Ugo Girl raced wide in the home straight.
Kiwi Swagger underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-vetted following race 6. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right wrist injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
