Clark Road underwent a pre-race veterinary examination upon retrieval from the kennels and was past fit to race.
Alina Grand and Abby's Toy were quick to begin. Clark Road was slow to begin.
Alina Grand checked off Abby's Toy on the first turn, checking Tyson's A Rebel, Jiggy's Luck, Charlie Bear and Clark Road. Jiggy's Luck checked off Tyson's A Rebel approaching the home turn. Tyson's Rebel and Shultz's A Rebel collided approaching the home turn, checking Shultz's A Rebel. Tyson's A Rebel and Silly Milly collided entering the home straight, checking Tyson's A Rebel, Silly Milly and Jiggy's Luck.

Stewards spoke to Mr I. Ognjenovic, the trainer of Alina Grand, regarding the greyhound performing above market expectations. Mr. Ognjenovic stated that Alina Grand was returning to racing from one month's break and with a light preparation, in his opinion, has freshened the greyhound. He added that Alina Grand has run upto its best time of 22.50. Stewards noted his explanation.
