Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Darnum Dasher.
Harvey Warbanger was quick to begin. Inter Lana, Spolly's Flyer, Spolly's Jet, Miss Minjee and Gruff Rose collided soon after the start checking Spolly's Flyer and Gruff Rose. Darnum Dasher and Maximus collided approaching the first turn checking Darnum Dasher. Inter Lana eased on the first turn. Miss Minjee was checked off Inter Lana on the first turn. Inter Lana and Spolly's Jet collided several times in the home straight. Inter Lana eased in the home straight. Miss Minjee galloped on Spolly's Jet approaching the winning post.
Inter Lana underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have the thumps and an injured right triangle muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to handler Ms. T. Collins regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn and in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1) Inter Lana was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment by reason of injury. Ms. Collins pleaded guilty to the charge, Inter Lana must perform a staisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
