A pre-race sample was taken from Alberto.
Alon was quick to begin. Alberto was slow to begin. What's Up Skip, Mepunga Billy and Lightning Boxy collided on the first turn checking Mepung Billy. Mepunga Billy and Destini Trucker collided on the first turn. Alberto failed to pursue the lure with due commitment approaching the home turn, on the home turn and in the home straight severely checking Mepunga Billy.
Alon underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Alberto underwent a a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 11. Alberto was found to have a right monkey muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to the trainer Mr. W. McMahon regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn, on the home turn and entering the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Alberto was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment throughout the event (by reason of injury). Mr. McMahon pleaded guilty to the charge, Alberto must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
