Steward's Report

Stewards spoke to Ms. P. Boots, the trainer of Scott Confused regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Scott Confused last raced on 17 September, 2018. Ms Boots stated that the greyhound was resuming racing after a tail injury.Ms Boots also declared a new weight of 27.4kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Scott Confused last raced at 26.2kg.

Twilight Shae and Jaggered Edge were slow to begin. 

Indigenous Lee and My Names Chelsea collided approaching the first turn. Scott Confused and My Names Chelsea collided on the first turn. Twilight Shae, Bob's Hammer and Jaggered Edge collided on the first turn, checking Jaggered Edge and causing Bob's Hammer to fall. Manila Mist, Scott Confused and Indigenous Lee collided approaching the home turn, checking Scott Confused. Scott Confused and Twilight Shae collided on the home turn. Jaggered Edge eased in the home straight. 

Bob's Hammer was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a thoraco- lumbar injury. A 3 day stand down period was imposed. 

Stewards spoke to Mr Brent Merton, the trainer of the greyhound Jaggered Edge regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Jaggered Edge was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right triangle muscle, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Jaggered Edge with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Merton pleaded guilty to the charge, Jaggered Edge was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a),  before any future nomination will be accepted.
