Steward's Report
A pre race sample was taken from Aston Axel.
Aston Axel, Slanter was quick to begin. Rail Remover was slow to begin.
Shadrack and Janray Mazel Tov collided soon after the start. Aston Tyki and Blackpool Nugget collided on the first turn. Shadrack and Janray Mazel Tov collided on the home turn. Aston Tyki raced wide on the home turn and again in the home straight. Rail Remover marred Slanter in the home straight, severley checking Slanter.
Rail Remover was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a injury to the left monkey muscle, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Slanter was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a injury's to the left wrist and left quadriceps and left hip, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr B Jacobs, the trainer of the greyhound Rail Remover regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight . Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Rail Remover with marring. Mr Jacobs pleaded guilty to the charge, Rail Remover was found guilty and suspended for 3 months (all tracks) and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(b), before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards inquired into an incident behind the boxes prior to start of this event. After taking evidence from trainer Mr. S. Waycott, steward Ms. L. Fahry, starter Mr. R. Phillips and trainer Mr. M. Gibbons, stewards issued a warning to Mr. Waycott with regards to his manner in handling the greyhound Slanter.
