Stewards spoke to Mr William Harvey the trainer of Cilla Gem regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Cilla Gem last raced on 23 June 2018. Mr Harvey stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a season.

Elston, the trainer of the greyhound Moroka Assassin regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Moroka Assassin was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right elbow injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Moroka Assassin with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Miss Elston pleaded guilty to the charge, Moroka Assassin was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Bluehawk Robert was a late scratching at 11.43am due to weight variation (GAR 39).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Graeme Campbell was fined the sum of $100.

Beast was slow to begin.

Kaltsis, the trainer of the greyhound Aston Halle regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn.  Aston Halle was vetted and re-vetted following event 12.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left pencil injury and an abrasion to the right foot, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Aston Halle with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Kaltsis pleaded guilty to the charge, Aston Halle was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

A post-race sample was taken from Thumb A Ride - winner of the event. 

Swift Mandy was a late scratching at 6.44pm 3 October 2018 due to an injury (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

A pre-race sample was taken from General Missy.

General Missy and Keisha's Boy were slow to begin.

Stewards advised Mr S. Kaltsis the representative of Aston Olivia to advise Stewards, as soon as practicable of other injuries that may have affected the running of this greyhound, in this event in accordance with GAR 75.

SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT:

Stewards were advised on the 5 October, 2018 by Mr S Kaltsis, the representative of Alston Olvia that upon checking the greyhound she was found to have sustained a left scapula injury.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Dex's Affair trialled over the 460mtrs from box 1, weight 33.2kgs, the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 26.57 the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 1 ¾ lengths.  Dex's Affair was Not Cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Mandela Sun trialled over the 460mtrs from box 3, weight 33.6kgs, the greyhound was placed 4th in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 26.57, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 6 ¾ lengths.  Mandela Sun was Cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Prince Mikado trialled over the 460mtrs from box 8, weight 32.5kgs, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 26.57, the greyhound won by a margin of 1 length.  Prince Mikado was Cleared.

Whyte, the trainer of Weeona Garf regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Weeona Garf last raced on 31 January 2018 and is returning from a broken right hock injury.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Weeona Garf trialled over the 400mtrs from box 1, weight 32.3kgs, the greyhound was placed [Insert placing] in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.58, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 8 ¾ lengths. Weeona Garf was Cleared.
