The start of this event was delayed by approximately 2.5 minutes due to a communication error between the lure driver and parade steward in arranging the stir up.
Buckle Up Leo, Calabrese Bullet and Ebonique were slow to begin.
Buckle Up Leo and Tuiaki Dora collided on the first turn. Dyna Zapto checked off Tuiaki Dora on the first turn, checking Calabrese Bullet. Gappy Hilmore and Destini Radar collided on the first turn, checking Destini Radar. Buckle Up Leo and Destini Radar collided approaching the home turn, checking Checker Plate and Ebonique and severely checking Destini Radar and Buckle Up Leo; Buckle Up Leo stumbled and lost considerable ground, checking Dyna Zapto and Calabrese Bullet as a result.
Buckle Up Leo was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Destini Radar was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left fore felxor tendon injury and a spike wound to the right medial tibia. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
