Vital Force was quick to begin. Poise and Mars Rising were slow to begin.
Vanishka and Panadero King collided soon after the start. Mars Rising checked off McNeo approaching the first turn. Zipping Dancer, Lylah's Way and Panadero King collided approaching the first turn. Lylah's Way and Panadero King collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Poise and McNeo collided on the first turn. McNeo checked off Poise on the second turn. Poise checked off Panadero King in the back straight. Vanishka and McNeo collided on the third turn checking McNeo. Vanishka and McNeo collided in the home straight checking both greyhounds.
Exhibition trial: - BATTLE OF THE BROTHERS - Pre-race samples were taken from both Rippin' Sam and Torando Tears. Rippin' Sam started from box 1 and Tornado Tears started from box 3, trialling over the 595mtrs, Rippin' Sam weight 33.5kgs and Torando Tears weight 31.5kgs. Tornado Tears lead all the way.
