Steward's Report
Bit Mad was a late scratching at 9.38am by order of the Stewards due to an error after the greyhound was a late scratching at the Ballarat meeting on the 24 December 2012.
Hong Kong Missy, Bombastic Knight and Rostok were slow to begin. Wee Bella and Splendid Shiraz collided soon after the start checking Nancy Juene, Wee Bella and Rostok. Snow Warrior and Splendid Shiraz collided on the first turn and again approaching the home turn checking Hong Kong Missy and Rostok severely checking Splendid Shiraz which stumbled and lost considerable ground, with Snow Warrior falling as a result. Rostok checked off Bombastic Knight on the home turn. Bombastic Knight and Wee Bella collided approaching the winning post.
A sample was taken from Nancy Juene - the winner of the event.
Snow Warrior was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right triangle muscle and grazes to its left metatarsals, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Splendid Shiraz was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
