Bit Mad was a late scratching at 9.38am by order of the Stewards due to an error after the greyhound was a late scratching at the Ballarat meeting on the 24 December 2012.

Hong Kong Missy, Bombastic Knight and Rostok were slow to begin.  Wee Bella and Splendid Shiraz collided soon after the start checking Nancy Juene, Wee Bella and Rostok.  Snow Warrior and Splendid Shiraz collided on the first turn and again approaching the home turn checking Hong Kong Missy and Rostok severely checking Splendid Shiraz which stumbled and lost considerable ground, with Snow Warrior falling as a result.  Rostok checked off Bombastic Knight on the home turn.  Bombastic Knight and Wee Bella collided approaching the winning post.

Talkin' Palmer was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its right wrist and right back muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Rockin Rox and I'm A Thinker were slow to begin.  I'm A Thinker and Kiltanon Rufus collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds.  Josh Milne and Rocken Boz collided approaching the first turn checking Rocken Boz.  Sixteen Candles and Vel Belena collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn.  Rockin Rox checked off Rocken Boz on the first turn.  I'm A Thinker and Kiltanon Rufus raced wide on the second turn.  Rocken Boz and I'm A Thinker collided entering the back straight.  Josh Milne and Vel Belena collided entering the back straight severely checking Vel Belena.  I'm A Thinker and Vel Belena collided in the back straight checking both greyhounds.  Rocken Boz and I'm A Thinker collided entering the home straight.
