Steward's Report
The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Soda Maxi and no illness was detected. The greyhound was a late scratching at 1.54pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr. C. Fulford was fined the sum of $100.
Crackerjack Man and Tycoran Gold were quick to begin. Tycoran Gold crossed to the rail soon after the start. Tycoran Gold eased several times approaching the first turn checking Crackerjack Man. Tycoran Gold and Wok Djay collided on the first turn checking Work Djay and It's Fresh. Tycoran Gold eased approaching the second turn severely checking Wok Djay and It's Fresh. Tycoran Gold was checked off For You Honey approaching the home turn. Tycoran Gold eased approaching the winning post.
It's Fresh was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no injury apparent. Trainer Mr. P. Terry declined his option to have the greyhound re-vetted.
Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Terry the trainer of the greyhound It's Fresh. Stewards deemed the performance of It's Fresh unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71 Stewards directed that It's Fresh must perform a satisfactory trial all tracks before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Neocleous the trainer of the greyhound Tycoran Gold regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the first turn, approaching the second turn and again approaching the winning post. Tycoran Gold was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left back muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1) Stewards charged Tycoran Gold with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment by reason of injury. Mr. Neocleous pleaded guilty to the charge, Tycoran Gold was found guillty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
