Aston Jynx was quick to begin.  Manila Mist was slow to begin.  Hurricane Blake, Femina Mystique and Firework Joey were very slow to begin. (3 lengths).  Hurricane Blake and Firework Joey collided approaching the first turn.  Hurricane Blake, Femina Mystique and Manila Mist collided on the first turn checking Hurricane Blake.  Lights Of Tanjil crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Delta's Tiara and Aston Jynx.  Hurricane Blake shifted out on the home turn checking Femina Mystique.

Molly The Lolly was slow to begin.  Vallexia was checked off Zipping Clover on the first turn.  Molly The Lolly was checked off Ruby's Rosa on the second turn.  Vallexia lost considerable ground over the concluding stages of the event.

Vallexia was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

Stewards spoke to Ms. Y. Cassidy the trainer of the greyhound Vallexia.  Stewards deemed the performance of Vallexia unsatisfactory in the event and acting in accordance with GAR 71 Stewards directed that Vallexia must perform a satisfactory trial all tracks before any future nomination will be accepted.

Run Mon Manny was quick to begin.  Magic Flora and Doc Meaney were slow to begin.  Cosmic Lucy and Dark Stealth collided approaching the first turn checking Dark Stealth, Magic Flora and Doc Meaney.  Goldie's Nugget was checked off Sharon's Gold on the first turn checking Magic Flora.  Not Practical crossed to the rail on the second turn causing Goldie's Nugget to collide with Dark Stealth checking Dark Stealth and severely checking Goldie's Nugget and Magic Flora.

Goldie's Nugget was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the left elbow, no stand down period was imposed.

Stealthy Flight turned in the box and did not take any competitive part in the event.  Ruby's Boy and Placid Pause were slow to begin.  Fabredust crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Choose, Exceed The Speed and Crackerjack Man and severely checking Pilot Pete and Ruby's Boy.  Choose and Crackerjack Man collided entering the back striaght severely checking Crackerjack Man, Crackerjack Man collided with Ruby's Boy as a result and lost considerable ground.

Stealthy Flight was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

Stewards established that Stealthy Flight turned in the boxes. Acting under GAR 52(1) Stealthy Flight was placed on a satisfactory trial all tracks.

Stewards spoke to Mr. I. Anderson regarding the direction that the greyhound Stealthy Flight be boxed first.  Acting under GAR 52(2) Stewards directed that this box first be removed.

Miss Zok Dee and Louisville Lip collided soon after the start.  Louisville Lip failed to pursue the lure soon after the start.  Miss Zok Dee was checked off Louisville Lip on the first turn.  Evie Willow was checked off Miss Zok Dee on the first turn.  Evie Willow was checked off Louisville Lip on the second turn.

Louisville Lip was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the right metatarsus, no stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mrs. S. Neocleous the representative for Louisville Lip regarding the greyhound's racing manners soon after the start.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) Stewards charged Louisville Lip with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mrs. Neocleous pleaded guilty to the charge, Louisville Lip was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Traralgon and it was directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Sassy Slyder was quick to begin.  Tarquin Bob, Burning Steel and Tolga were slow to begin.  Burning Steel and Tolga collided soon after the start.  Further Dreamer, Tarquin Bob and Ballistic Gem collided on the first turn checking Further Dreamer, Tarquin Bob, Ballistic Gem, Burning Steel and Tolga.  Blunderbuss and Double Black collided on the first turn checking Blunderbuss.  Tarquin Bob raced wide in the back straight checking Ballistic Gem, Burning Steel and Tolga.  Further Dreamer was checked off Blunderbuss on the second turn checking Tarquin Bob, Burning Steel and Tolga.  Further Dreamer was checked off Bluderbuss on the second turn checking Tarquin Bob and Burning Steel.  Double Black faltered on the second turn and lost considerable ground checking Tolga.  Further Dreamer was checked off Tarquin Bob on the home turn.  Burning Steel and Tarquin Bob collided approaching the winning post.

Double Black was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 8 it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left calf muscle, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Bowie Boy was quick to begin.  Tinker Buzz was slow to begin.  Lucky Gypsy, Eden Monaro and Good One Carl collided approaching the first turn checking Eden Monaro and Good One Carl.   Latinize and Bowie Boy collided on the first turn.  Secret Of Mine and Latinize collided approaching the second turn.  Secret Of Mine was checked off Bowie Boy on the second turn.  Eden Monaro was checked off Tinker Buzz approaching the winning post.

Good One Carl was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 12, it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right hock and right monkey muscle, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

El Tigera and It's Debatable collided soon after the start.  Slick Assassian, Where's Marcia and Little Freck collided on the first turn severely checking Slick Assassian.  It's Debatable was checked off El Tigera on the first turn checking It's Debatable.

A pre-race sample was taken from Aston Seles.

Lisa Pizza was quick to begin.  Hurricane Cindy was very slow to begin (4 lengths).  Bela Natali, Shargre, Aston Seles and MacLeod collided approaching the first turn.  Lisa Pizza and Kissem collided approaching the first turn checking Kissem.  Aston Seles and MacLeod collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Aston Seles galloped on MacLeod on the first turn.  Lisa Pizza and Tinker Bess collided on the first turn checking Lisa Pizza.

Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Mallia regarding the direction that the greyhound Tinker Bess be boxed first.  Acting under GAR 52(2) Stewards directed that this box first be removed.

Tinker Bess was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a laceration to a right front toe, a 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Wolfie's Squeeze and Got Some Zip were quick to begin.  Tinker Ben and Super Fay were slow to begin.  Pink Tiara and Jen's Magic collided soon after the start checking Jen's Magic.  Got Some Zip and Star Night collided approaching the first turn.  Tinker Ben and Super Fay collided on the first turn severely checking Tinker Ben.

An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Catcha Nugget engaged in this event on 19 August 2018 pursuant to GAR 79A.

Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Schembri, the trainer of Bye Bye Brad regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Bye Bye Brad last raced on 3 May 2018 and is returning to racing following a spell. Mr Schembri also declared a new weight of 34.2 Kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR39(2). Bye Bye Brad last raced at 35.3kgs. 

Mr J. Formosa, trainer of Seeka Moment declared a new weight of 32.3kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Seeka Moment last raced at 30.8kgs. 

Zade's Magic, Jamie Marie and Bye Bye Brad were quick to begin.  Catcha Nugget and Spectator were slow to begin.  Catcha Nugget was checked off Minutes approaching the first turn.  Bye Bye Brad and General Missy collided on the first turn severely checking General Missy.

Bye Bye Brad was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a split nail on a right hind toe, no stand down period was imposed.

Go Zippy Go was a late scratching at 10:20am due to Stewards permission. No penalty was applied. 

A pre-race sample was taken from Country Gal.

Galloping Wytee and Hypo Chared collided approaching the first turn.  Zippy Zuri crossed to the rail on the first turn severely checking Hypo Chared, Fairytale Ending and Galloping Wytee were checked as a result.  No Sugar and Fairytale Ending collided on the first turn checking No Sugar.  Country Gal and Zippy Zuri collided on the home turn.

Meeting Comments:

Satisfactory Trial results - Zipping Todd trialled over the 395 metres from box 6, weight 27.8kg, the greyhound was placed fifth in a field of 5. The time of the trial was 23.19 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 7 lengths. Zipping Todd was cleared. 

Darcon Flash trialled over the 395 metres from box 8, weight 29.2kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of 5. The time of the trial was 23.19 secs, the greyhound won by a margin of 1.75 lengths. Darcon Flash was cleared.
